The 2nd European Workshop on Environmental Crime – Wildlife Poisoning was organized by the Spanish SEO and the English RSPB Birdlife partners and was held in Barcelona.
At the request of the organizers, MME’s representative, Dr. Gergő Halmos presented a case-study compiled from the achievements of the HELICON LIFE+ project and he also took part as presiding chair of the workshop.

Altogether, 30 experts from 22 countries attended the meeting. Besides the representatives of each country, international organizations such as CMS – Bonn Convention, FACE - European Hunting Society, EUFJE - European Union Forum of judges for the environment, ENPE - European Network of Prosecutors for the Environment, EnviCrimeNet - International network of police officers in the field of environmental crime sent their own representatives, as well.

Contacts with these organizations will be very beneficial to domestic processes (e.g. provision of information to prosecutors and judges planned for next year).
Next version of the discussed action plan will be sent to the participants, and after finalisation the CMS, European Commission, BirdLife Birds and Directive Task Force shall receive it for further use.
